Practice-led research was undertaken by embedding the researchers within the Scottish creative industries through placements and the offer of consultancy services. After the first eight months of work, the potential value for applying a Service Design perspective to the production of media content arose.

Simultaneously, the potential of enhancing audience engagement trough participation triggered research into users’ relationships with and through media.
